Sophie Mok is a Hong Kong–born conductor who currently serves as Assistant Conductor of the North Carolina Symphony, a position she began in the 2024–2025 season. She works closely with the orchestra across symphonic, education, and community programs, and will lead the North Carolina Symphony’s Western Residency in 2026. Since 2023, Mok has also been Assistant Conductor of the Asian Youth Orchestra, conducting concerts across Tianjin, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.

She has collaborated with orchestras internationally, including the Berlin Sinfonietta, Orquesta de Cámara del Municipal de Santiago, and Eastern Festival Orchestra, and has served as a cover conductor with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Previously, she was a Conducting Fellow with the Miami Symphony Orchestra. Mok completed her Artist Diploma in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Miami, where she studied under Gerard Schwarz.
